- May 16, 2007: 4th Official Meeting of
the International Society of TeleDermatology
The ISTD is steadily growing with nearly 400 members now.
TeleDermatology is now for the first time extensively mentioned
in de program of the EADV congress. Jayakar Thomas & Parimalam
Kumar on behalf of the Indian Society of Teledermatology (INSTED)
are offering to organise the 2nd Congress in Chennai, India
from October 16. - 18. 2008. Read the

- 2nd Worldcongress Of TeleDermatology:
115 colleagues from 32 countries all over the world
have attended the 1st World Congress of the ISTD in Graz. So
far, the meeting is very successful and lively. Presentations
are of excellent quality. Candidates so far for the 2nd World
Congress of the ISTD are Chennai (formerly Madras) in India and
Amsterdam in The Netherlands. The Executive Board will ask
members to propose their candidacy. A decision will be made in
spring 2007.
- November 9, 2006: 3rd Official Meeting
of the International Society of TeleDermatology
Election of the Board 2006 - 2007: It is generally accepted
that: H. Peter Soyer (Graz, Austria) succeeds Peter Elsner
(Jena, Germany) as president Leonard Witkamp (Amsterdam, The
Netherlands) succeeds H. Peter Soyer as vice-president Gerald
Gabler (Graz, Austria) remains in the function as secretary and
Regina Fink-Puches (Graz, Austria) remains treasurer. Josep
Malvehy (Barcelona, Spain) remains auditor and David Ramirez
(Seville, Spain) suc-ceeds Gabriel Yihune (Heidelberg, Germany)
as auditor. The ISTD wants to keep its international independent
character and will therefore remain as a separate international
society, however, with close contact with liaison officers for
the Ameri-can Telemedicine Association (liaison officer: Karen
McKoy), American Academy of Derma-tology (Karen McKoy) and
European Academy of Dermatology (liaison officer: Gregor Jemec)
Further cooperation with the International Society for
Telemedicine & eHealth (ISfTeH) repre-sented by Frank Lievens)
will be explored by the Executive Board. The general assembly thanks Peter Elsner for his efforts and
work for the society.
